Dwayne Johnson’s Latest Watches

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson successfully transitioned from a wrestling star to the ultimate action hero, getting top billing in movies like Fast Furious and San Andreas.

Today, the multi-hyphenate actor, producer, and entrepreneur is also widely considered a style icon, whose impeccable taste extends to his watches. We covered his watch collection years back, and he’s since added cool new pieces to his enviable watch box. Here’s what The Rock is rocking on his wrist these days:

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Green Dial

Dwayne was recently spotted with the latest TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph with a green dial. Released in 2020, this watch combines the practicality of a chronograph with the timeless looks of the Carrera.

This watch stays true to the Carrera’s design DNA and ticks a lot of the boxes one should look for in a modern daily watch: a 44mm steel case, sharp lugs, and a workhorse movement with an 80-hour power reserve at its core. Rolex GMT-Master II Steel Everose 126711

While promoting his new energy drink business, Zoa, on Instagram, The Rock also showed off his latest horological acquisition: a Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Root Beer.’

The original ‘Root Beer’ (GMT-Master ref. 1675/3) came out in the ‘70s and was the first GMT-Master offered in Rolesor. Dwayne has the 2018 re-edition (ref. 126711CHNR), which swapped from yellow gold to rose gold on the bezel and center links, and features a black and brown Cerachrom bezel – a first for the GMT Master line. Panerai Radiomir 1940 Oro Rosso GMT

Dwayne is a huge fan of Panerai watches. With their massive cases and robust build, they are a perfect match for Dwayne, and we see him try on the brand’s dressier models these days.

One of them is the Radiomir 1940 3-Days GMT, which comes in a rose gold cushion-shaped case. This is complemented by a brown leather strap and matching dial with lume-filled indices and hands. Rather than boasting wire lugs that are typically seen in older Radiomirs, the Radiomir 1940 has normal straight lugs, which balances out refinement and robustness. The Rock was also spotted at the Super Bowl final at the SoFi Stadium, California wearing one of Panerai’s hottest watches to date – the 44mm Submersible Goldtech with a black ceramic bezel and matching dial.

Panerai’s new gold material, Goldtech, is produced with a percentage of copper, which gives the material an intense red tint, and platinum, which keeps the watch from oxidizing and therefore increasing its lifespan. IWC Big Pilot’s Watch

Dwayne is also a huge fan of IWC watches, particularly the Big Pilot’s Watch, whose ruggedly handsome looks match his larger-than-life presence. He wore this timepiece during his surprise appearance at the 2022 CinemaCon.

Dwayne has also come to love more complex models from IWC. For the red carpet premiere of his Netflix film Red Notice, he wore the elegant IWC Portugieser Annual Calendar.

The watch’s stunning sunburst blue dial with raised numerals can be dressed up or dressed down depending on how it is styled. The annual calendar windows take the place of the 11 to 1 hour markers at the top of the dial, with black-on-white discs peering through three designated apertures, while red touches on the right give a sharp pop of color. IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar

During the press tour of Jumanji: The Next Level in Berlin last 2019, we saw The Rock with the IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar, this time in 5N gold – a rose gold alloy with more copper in the mix, resulting in a more reddish hue.

The watch packs a lot of visual punch and is loved for its refined elegance. A perpetual calendar with displayed four digits, a moonphase indicator with a starry night sky and the state of the moon, a 7-day automatic movement with Pellaton winding system, and a power reserve display are among the watch’s notable features. IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Spitfire Perpetual Calendar

Speaking of complex models, Dwayne also wears one of the newer complicated jewels in the revamped IWC Spitfire collection – the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Spitfire. This marvel boasts a bronze construction, a deep green dial, and numerous complications.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted White Gold

Dwayne loves tough watches, but he has made space for an ultra-luxe piece from Audemars Piguet – the Royal Oak Chronograph with frosted white gold construction and dark purple dial.

Prized for both its attractive qualities and resilience, the glistening frosty surface of the 41mm case and bracelet is achieved through the artisanal gold hammering technique used in jewelry. For many years, Dwayne has mostly been spotted with watches from Rolex and Panerai, and IWC. Just recently, he added a Breitling to his collection and a stylish and capable one at that.

The model he went for is the Superocean Heritage Chronograph – an ISO 6425-compliant chronograph diver with the B01 movement at its heart.
