Alpina used Geneva Watch Days 2025 to expand its Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic line with two new references that nod to both vintage dive heritage and rugged field use. The first model comes with a black dial treated in “old radium” lume across the markers, hands, and minute track, giving it the warm glow and patina of 1920s–30s tool watches. The second adopts a khaki frosted dial, a look that pushes the watch’s character beyond the sea into the realm of outdoor expeditions. Both versions keep the compact 39mm steel case, unidirectional ceramic bezel, screw-down crown, and 300-metre water resistance, and are powered by an automatic calibre on a textured rubber strap.
The design work shows Alpina’s awareness that small details make a big difference. By offering a 39mm case alongside its earlier 41mm, the brand taps into the proportions of classic 1960s divers, which many collectors prefer today. Oversized luminous hands and indexes ensure clarity in poor light, while the triangular marker at 12 o’clock ties back to Alpina’s alpine emblem. A date window sits at six o’clock, made more legible with a subtle luminous insert beneath it—an uncommon but practical touch. The consistency of the “old radium” colour, even across the printed dial text, gives the watch a carefully judged period feel without overdoing it.
The khaki version brings the same build and readability but offers a different mood: more operational, more field-ready. Both pieces underline Alpina’s core message, robust sports watches that remain versatile across environments.
