The new Chronodate Moka editions channel the richness of their name, with a warm amber brown dial that recalls roasted mocha tones. Angelus pairs this colour with a complex 42.5 mm case combining carbon composite and either red gold or titanium, while the alligator strap continues the chocolate-hued theme. Released in two tightly limited runs of five pieces in red gold and twenty five in titanium, the Moka feels indulgent yet distinctly modern.
Since the Chronodate’s neo retro return, Angelus has embraced its dual identity as both a historic chronograph maker and a technical contemporary innovator. That contrast appears in the openworked cradle, the carbon composite pushers and the fixed bezel with twelve notches. The mocha sunray dial brings together oversized black counters, gold finished numerals and a red arrow date pointer that quietly references the 1942 original, producing a tactile and full bodied character.
Inside beats the in house A 500 calibre, a column wheel chronograph with a horizontal clutch and a power reserve of sixty hours. Its NAC treated bridges, propeller shaped screws and refined chamfers give it a modern haute horlogerie presence. On the back, the rotor in red gold or tungsten carries the vintage Angelus A and star, linking this contemporary expression to the earliest chapters of the brand.
