Arnold Son revisits its British watchmaking roots with the Time Pyramid 42.5 Malachite Editions, an eight-piece limited run in 5N red gold and another eight in platinum. The signature pyramid-shaped calibre appears to float within the case, its architectural lines dramatically framed by a vibrant malachite disc. This deep green stone, long admired for its mesmerizing striations, gives the open worked display a sense of depth and almost mystical refinement.
Housed in a 42.5 mm case with a slim bezel and domed sapphire crystal, the Time Pyramid reveals the full geometry of the hand-wound A&S1615 calibre. Its linear construction runs from twin barrels at 6 o’clock to the balance assembly at 12, with twin power-reserve indicators flanking the gear train for perfect symmetry. The crown which is ingeniously positioned between the lugs, preserves the watch’s axial purity while enhancing the impression of mechanical levitation. Inspired by an 1830s regulator by John Roger Arnold, the interplay of circles, negative space and structural transparency draws the eye straight into the movement’s architectural core.
The malachite backdrop reinforces the watch’s theme of balance and prosperity, complementing a calibre just 4.4 mm thick yet capable of a robust 90-hour power reserve. With its constant-force delivery and poetic symmetry, the Time Pyramid 42.5 Malachite stands as an expression of precision and British watchmaking flair.
