BA111OD is rewriting the rules of timekeeping with CHPTR_Δ (Chapter Delta), its first in-house complication, launched during the Geneva watch fairs. Developed with La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaker Olivier Mory and originally envisioned by designer Diego Bößiger-Zevallos, CHPTR_Δ replaces the traditional hour hand with a dot that moves along a hypocycloidal path inside a triangle. It slows, accelerates, and flows irregularly, like time often feels, while the minute hand continues its familiar circular sweep. The result is both mathematically precise and emotionally resonant, capturing the idea that not all minutes feel the same.
The triangular hour path is not just a design flourish. It is central to the brand’s identity. The triangle symbolizes balance, direction, and determination, themes echoed in BA111OD’s own name and BAC business model: Business, Afluendors, Clients. The 44mm case, designed by Senior Designer Liliane Murenzi, features layered finishing and asymmetric transparency that adds visual depth. Available in three versions — grey with blue accents, black with red, and deep blue with a yellow hour dot — the design plays with contrast and light, giving each watch a distinct personality.
Inside beats the new BA111OD 09310 movement, assembled in-house in Neuchâtel. The brand also integrates NFC technology into the sapphire crystal, allowing wearers to share files or links with a tap. With its signature 4 o’clock crown and fully Swiss-made construction, CHPTR_Δ does not just offer a new complication. It offers a new philosophy of time, delivered with mechanical imagination and independent spirit.
