BA111OD is expanding its CHPTR_Δ line with a new 40mm format, answering growing demand for a more compact take on its most conceptually ambitious watch. The original 44mm model introduced a hypnotic new way of reading time: traditional minutes on a central hand, paired with an hour display that traces a triangle—specifically a deltoid path—using a satellite gear rotating around a fixed one. Now, the same in-house complication returns in four new references, each offering a distinct character while keeping the mechanics intact.

Among the newcomers is a steel version that echoes the original bestseller, a two-tone model in steel and yellow gold PVD, and two anthracite editions, one of which features a black diamond-set bezel. The hypnotic hour dot remains, gliding along its triangular route—slowing, accelerating, and repeating in a rhythm that feels more poetic than mechanical. As before, the movement is the work of Olivier Mory, the La Chaux-de-Fonds watchmaker behind many of BA111OD’s more technical achievements. The design remains under the eye of Liliane Murenzi, whose asymmetrical layering and blend of brushed and polished textures give the watch depth and presence.

Each piece is assembled in-house at the brand’s Neuchâtel workshop, where BA111OD now handles everything from casing to customer service. The brand’s NFC-enabled sapphire crystal also returns, allowing wearers to share digital content with a tap. The new 40mm CHPTR_Δ models don’t just make the concept more wearable—they reaffirm BA111OD’s commitment to mechanical storytelling through original, homegrown watchmaking.
