Briston’s Streamliner Urban Automatic quietly refines the brand’s design language with a case that blends tonneau curves and integrated lines. The visible screws on the bezel remain, a subtle nod to functionality, while the tortoiseshell acetate case is balanced by brushed and polished surfaces. Inside, the NH35 automatic movement offers a practical 41-hour power reserve and can be seen through the transparent case back, complete with a rotor finished in Côte de Genève.
The dial carries the weight of the design, with an embossed waffle texture that adds depth without distracting from legibility. Arabic numerals, drawn from Briston’s Clubmaster line, are carved into the dial alongside simple indexes. Colour options span from ice blue and navy to olive and taupe, each dial marked by a square-outlined date window and the understated “Automatic” label at six.
Bracelet choices are deliberate. Steel models come with vulcanized rubber straps for contrast, while a newly developed stainless steel bracelet features straight H-links with brushed surfaces and polished bevels. It’s a watch that leans on design references from the 1970s but avoids nostalgia, landing instead in a well-judged modern middle ground.
