History of Daniel Roth
Daniel Roth is a renowned and influential watchmaker who has left a significant mark on the watchmaking industry. Born in Nice, France, Roth began his career at Breguet in the 1970s and ’80s, where he played a key role in rebuilding the company’s prestige. In 1988, he established his own company in Le Sentier, Switzerland, and released his first watch, a tourbillon, in 1989, followed by his first manual-wind chronograph, the C147, a year later Roth’s timepieces were characterized by traditional craftsmanship, stylistic innovation, and the use of precious materials, and he was known for designing intricate and intriguing timepieces, including tourbillons, chronographs, perpetual calendars, and skeleton chronographs. Despite the commercial challenges that his brand faced, Roth’s work was highly regarded, and he received recognition for his contributions to Haute Horlogerie.
