Favre Leuba enters a new era with the launch of its first-ever tourbillon timepiece: the Chief Tourbillon. Developed in partnership with renowned watchmaker Jean-François Mojon of Chronode, this limited edition of just 25 pieces signals the brand’s return to high-end mechanical innovation. The Chief Tourbillon features a distinctive three-dimensional dial built around Favre Leuba’s embossed Hourglass emblem, showcasing a modern take on the brand’s heritage while underlining its renewed focus on design and technical execution.
After reemerging in 2024, Favre Leuba quickly regained attention as the Watchmaking Revival of the Year. With industry veteran Patrik Hoffmann leading the team, the brand launched a clear product strategy and updated its identity. The Chief Tourbillon sits at the top of this revamped collection. Its dial is the result of precise multi-stage stamping and finishing, creating a layered design with triangular motifs that reflect light differently across each surface. This creates depth and a distinct look that separates it from more traditional approaches.
Inside the watch is the FL T01 movement, based on Chronode’s C502 calibre and fully re-engineered for Favre Leuba. The upper bridge of the tourbillon subtly references the Hourglass emblem and supports both the rehaut and small seconds dial. The 14.85 mm cage is finished with brushed and circular-grain surfaces, emphasizing the attention to detail. Additional elements like flame-blued screws and a decorated caseback reinforce the watch’s premium positioning.
The Chief Tourbillon represents both a technical and strategic milestone for Favre Leuba. It’s a high-complication model designed to show what the revived brand is capable of, while still offering value in its category.
