The Fullerö Sword from GoS Watches is a timepiece steeped in Scandinavian heritage, inspired by a remarkably preserved Viking sword unearthed in 1969 near Uppsala. Its Damascus steel dial, hand-forged by Swedish bladesmith Conny Persson, mirrors the ancient pattern-welded core of the original blade. Persson adapts centuries-old forging methods, adding a modern twist with 17-layer rods and fine nickel accents, to make the three dial variations: glowing steel, raw steel, or midnight blue. The result is a rich, organic surface that feels both ancient and undeniably contemporary.

The 41.5mm stainless steel case draws on Viking motifs, with a braided bezel inlaid with enamel and deep grooves along the flanks, adding tactile nuance. A sapphire ring encircles the dial, clear by day and glowing orange at night thanks to GoS’s proprietary 3D Lumicast® technology, a subtle but powerful nod to the heat of the forge. Eschewing applied markers, time is tracked by 12 gaps in the sapphire, keeping the dial open and architectural. GoS’s signature spear-shaped hands and a fine seconds hand complete the composition with a sense of quiet purpose.

Visible through a sapphire caseback, the Swiss-made Calibre G101 from La Joux-Perret—customised for GoS—powers the watch, its skeletonised tungsten rotor bearing the brand’s gold triskele seal. As ever, GoS co-founder Patrik Sjögren brings both his engineering precision and design flair to bear, ensuring the Fullerö Sword revives history with integrity and craft.
