The Slim d’Hermès Faubourg of Dreams watch is a poetic expression of artistry and watch making. With a weightless, celestial theme, it portrays a floating horse rendered through expert engraving and miniature painting. First created by Philippe Delhotal in 2015, this watch reflects the brand’s dedication to precision and harmony. Its refined, modern lines represent both timeless sophistication and the imaginative flair characteristic of Hermès, while drawing inspiration from the “Faubourg of Dreams” silk scarf.
The dial becomes a universe of floating curiosities, like an open bag, horseshoe, headphones, and vintage phone receiver, all painted with remarkable finesse. Manufactured through the combined techniques of engraving and miniature painting on an appliqué, the dial’s depth is enhanced by a sparkling aventurine base and a sapphire ring that houses the levitating objects.
Dominating the celestial scene is a silver horse, detailed through a process that includes abrasion dyeing before application. Its sculpted form captures light with remarkable dimensionality. Set at the center of the dial, the horse’s chest is marked with slender hour and minute hands powered by the H1950 self-winding movement, all in a white gold case. Finished with an alligator leather strap that reflects Hermès’ leather expertise, this model is limited to just 24 pieces.
