Jaeger-LeCoultre sharpens the focus of its Polaris collection with a new chronograph that showcases a richly layered Ocean Grey lacquer dial. The dial is a visual and technical statement, composed of 35 hand-applied layers across three concentric zones, each finished differently to play with light and depth. A gradient effect moves from steely silver to smoky grey, interrupted by vivid orange accents that underscore its sportier side. The dial remains effortlessly readable thanks to bold trapezoid markers, skeletonised hands, and generous luminescent treatment, all of which sit comfortably within a familiar Polaris layout that favors symmetry and clarity.
The 42 millimeter stainless steel case channels the spirit of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s 1960s diving watches with taut lines, faceted lugs, a slim bezel, and a domed glass-box crystal. The large crown and broad pushers offer both visual punch and tactile feedback, referencing the collection’s heritage while delivering modern wearability. With two quick-change strap options in blue-grey canvas and textured black rubber, the watch shifts easily from the office to open water.
Inside beats the in-house Calibre 761, a fully integrated automatic chronograph movement with a column wheel and vertical clutch, offering 65 hours of power reserve. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement is finished with Geneva stripes, blued screws, and an open-worked rotor bearing the JL signature. This is Jaeger-LeCoultre watchmaking at its confident best, combining mechanical integrity with a strong, stylish presence.
