Jaeger-LeCoultre revisits one of watchmaking’s most enduring icons with the Reverso Classic Monoface Small Seconds, now featuring a polished steel case and a newly detailed dial. Created in 1931 to withstand the rigours of polo, the Reverso quickly transcended its sporting roots to become a symbol of refined design. Its swivelling case and Art Deco geometry have remained constant through decades of stylistic evolution, ensuring its place among the most recognisable watches in the world.
The new version highlights the Reverso’s ability to balance tradition and modernity. Its dial introduces a finely executed “coin stack” guilloché pattern, a texture that catches the light with subtle depth and contrasts elegantly with vertically brushed tracks and bold Arabic numerals. The effect is understated yet sophisticated, evoking the craftsmanship of the past while feeling entirely contemporary.
With proportions closely echoing the original 1931 design, the 40.1 by 24.4 millimetre case and slim 7.56 millimetre profile lend it universal elegance and comfort. The hand-wound Calibre 822 movement offers a 42-hour reserve, while the smooth metal caseback invites personalisation through engraving. A black calfskin strap from Argentine polo bootmaker Casa Fagliano completes the watch.
