MB&F’s HM11 has always blurred the boundary between horology and architecture, and the latest Art Deco editions continue that idea with a new visual language. When the HM11 Architect launched in 2023, it felt like a miniature house for the wrist rather than a traditional watch. Inspired by the organic architecture of the late 60s and 70s, it featured a central atrium under a double-domed sapphire roof, four functional “rooms,” and a crown designed like a key. Time, power reserve, temperature and time-setting each occupied their own chamber, and winding happened not through a crown but by rotating the entire 42 mm case, each 45-degree click delivering 72 minutes of power.

Designer Maximilian Maertens reinterprets that structure through a 1930s lens for the HM11 Art Deco editions. Sunburst graphics replace conical markers, vertical bridges take on the stance of stepped stonework, and the crown echoes layered cinema façades. The tourbillon bridge now aligns visually with the baseplate architecture, creating clean lines that run across the watch. Side by side, the contrast is clear: the Architect is curved and organic, while the Art Deco edition stands straighter and more graphic, like a stylised skyline.

Both share the same movement: a 2.5 Hz in-house calibre suspended on four tensioned springs and wound by rotating the case. Sapphire covers each display, water-resistance remains 20 metres, and comfort is improved by curved strap-integrated lugs. The Art Deco editions come in two runs of ten pieces, blue with yellow-gold toned bridges, or green with rose-gold. Each is finished with sharp angles, translucent enamel hands and detailed alternating surfaces.
