The LM Sequential Flyback EVO marks a confident new chapter in MB&F’s chronograph story. When the original Sequential EVO appeared in 2022, it introduced the brand’s first chronograph and immediately reset expectations, earning the GPHG Aiguille d’Or for its radically intelligent approach to elapsed time. Two independent chronographs, governed by the Twinverter switch, transformed a traditionally linear complication into a versatile instrument capable of adapting to real world timing needs. The Flyback EVO stays true to that vision while refining it with greater immediacy and intent.
Presented in a grade 5 titanium case with an aquamarine dial plate, the Flyback EVO finally integrates the flyback function that was part of Stephen McDonnell’s original conception. Both chronographs benefit from this capability, allowing instantaneous restart without sacrificing precision. A subtly inclined time dial, first seen on the more classical Legacy Machine edition, improves legibility and adds a quiet layer of ergonomics. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the Sequential Flyback calibre remains an exercise in mechanical discipline, with internally jewelled vertical clutches and a flyback system engineered to minimise friction and energy loss.
What elevates this version is how naturally it fits into the EVO philosophy. With 80 metres of water resistance, a screw down crown, an integrated rubber strap and the FlexRing shock absorber, the LM Sequential Flyback EVO balances high complication with genuine robustness. It is an uncompromising piece of modern horology that invites interaction.
